Thank You

Thank you for all of your support thanks to all of you I am hours from receiving my biggest award I have ever gotten: a noble peace prize. At the moment I am on a plane flying to Stockholm and I literally can’t stop fidgeting I’m so excited. my only complaint is that my parents couldn’t come to see me getting my award because they have supported me since day one. But we all have to remember that the fight is not over we need to do everything we can to SAVE THE WORLD!

Recycle?

When you think of recycling what do you think of? Do you think of the three R’s you were taught in primary school reduce, reuse, recycle? Do you think of something that is essential to human life, or do you think of something you do once in a while? What I think of is the second option: something that is essential for humans. If we recycled then there would be fewer things in all of the landfills and there would be less glass, paper and plastic products manufactured. The worst thing to throw out is plastic, it will never decompose. I have always thought that plastic was invented by the devil, but recently I learnt that whoever did make it is worse.      
 

                                 

Clayoquot Sound

I have just finished my first grueling day of protesting. I left last night for Clayoquot Sound to protest the cutting down of those beautiful trees. I have decided that the best way to protest would be to strap myself to an ancient old growth tree and to do whatever it takes to not let them cut the trees down. In the morning workers came in and when they noticed me, they tried to get me away so they could safely do their jobs. They tried reasoning, they tried arguing, they even tried physically pulling me off, but my straps and my ideals held and they were forced to return to their camp a bit early. So all of my readers, as soon as you can head up to Clayoquot Sound and help me save this beautiful reserve.

Veggies > Meat

Another way we can save Mother Earth is if we all became vegetarians. Not only is it amazingly cruel to the animals we eat, but eating meat is one of the worst things you can do for the planet. It takes three pounds of grain to produce one pound of meat, which is horribly inefficient. If we did this we could end world hunger for good and we could get rid of the forever methane producing cows. Also people would be healthier because of this, because meat is very fatty and can cause serious health problems like liver and heart disease. I have been a vegetarian for two years now and it was the best choice I have ever done in my short life, so be like me, Asher and feel great.

Al Gore

Now im going to talk about a real hero of mine; Albert Arnold Gore, Junior. He had the election stolen from him by the bumbling George W. Bush. He managed to turn this all around and to run a different type of campaign, a campaign against global warming. An Inconvenient Truth was the first thing I saw that really made me say, “Wow I should do something about global warming.” He is really a visionary in the fight against climate change and I believe that he will be a leader when we finally get the fight out to the public. Protest - January 16, 2011

This is what the protest looked like for all that missed it. I hope that for the next one you can all make it, we need to be more serious.

Immediate Action is Needed

I have decided to take immediate action and to protest against climate change. If you are one of the few people in this world like me who have a couple brain cells, you will have realized that we need to do something now. We need to get off our dependence of oil; the BP oil rig that exploded was just a sign of what will happen, we need to change this. We have the technology to create more solar panels, wind turbines and even completely electrical cars we just need to harness the power. So join me on January 16, 2-4 at Robsin Street for a protest that will be remembered throughout the ages.

Welcome

This blog is about how little the government is doing about global warming and how we can all change this. If the government sees that the general public wants drastic changes in policy then they will do it in order to get votes. If everyone did something as simple as sending a letter to Mr. Stephen Harper then he would have no choice but to take action against global warming. This and other forms of Civil Disobedience works for example a coal firing power plant recently had its permit withdrawn as a result of a community blockade of the Desert Rock site, in Dine (Navajo) territory.  This is just the beginning - with everyone’s help we can make the world a better place.
